Love Your Life, Love Your Heart!

As a woman in my forties, I see the need to take care of myself more than ever, by eating right,
exercise and reducing stress. Let's face it, in today's busy world, it's easy to let these things take a back seat! I have
never had a heart attack, I don't have high-blood pressure or cholesterol, I don't have diabetes, and I'm not going to wait
until I do to start taking care of myself. I'm going to be pro-active in living a heart healthy lifestyle! Not just for myself,
but for the ones I love. As the mother of five children, I want to be a good example and to provide a healthy way of living
for them, by making healthy meals and promoting physical activity. We have a history in our family of obesity, stroke, high-blood
pressure and cholesterol and diabetes, but with heart healthy choices we can change the future! As women, mother's and wives,
we need to make sure that with all that we do for everyone else, that we are not sacrificing our own health. To stop putting
off getting our own physicals, to carve out time to exercise and say "no" to distractions. To make right food choices during
our busy, hurried day. Saying "no" to the office birthday cake, or skipping that extra calorie ladened latte'. Finding
healthy ways of reducing stress, yoga, meditation, hobbies, whatever takes your mind off of your daily troubles. Me, I take
belly dancing lessons! Join with me for Heart Health Month and let's get pro-active in our heart health care!
Have a heart healthy day!
